Yesterday morning Instant On IT teamed up with two IT security market leaders, mkryptor and Vasco Data Security, to deliver a highly topical IT security session. According to the government’s 2013 Information Security Breaches Survey, an unprecedented number of cyber-attacks are experienced by UK businesses, with a staggering 87% of small businesses having fallen victim to cyber-crime over the past year.
Our founder – Paul Coote – opened our seminar, held at the Law Society, by explaining the significance of strategy and high level policies set by decision makers, and subsequently the right product choices to facilitate their implementation.
The remainder of our seminar focused on email encryption and authentication. Paul introduced Simon Freeman (Founder of Fresh Skies/mkryptor) and Dan McLoughlin (Vasco), who demonstrated that the information we send via email, and the information we store, is not as secure as we might hope; and how their offerings can help tackle these areas. The guest speakers were carefully selected by us, as their solutions are proven, easy to adopt and cost effective, and can therefore ensure organisations meet their policy aims: mkryptor is a straightforward and highly secure solution to protect email confidentiality, whilst Vasco’s robust authentication addresses the secure storage of data.
